1. Marking and Positioning: Based on the installation location, dimensions, and elevation of doors and windows as specified in the design drawings, measure outward from the centerline of each door or window to establish the edge lines. For multi-story or high-rise buildings, use the edge lines of the top-floor doors and windows as the reference. Employ a plumb bob or theodolite to accurately transfer these edge lines downward to each floor level, marking them clearly at every doorway and window opening. Any uneven edges should be carefully chiseled out for proper alignment. The horizontal position of doors and windows is determined by referencing the +500mm level line within the room on each floor—measure upward from this line to locate the precise bottom elevation of the window, then snap a chalk line to ensure vertical alignment. Importantly, the bottom edge elevation of each window must remain consistent across all floors.
  2. Anti-corrosion treatment: Apply plastic film for protection, preventing direct contact between the cement mortar and the aluminum alloy door and window surfaces, which could trigger electrochemical reactions and lead to corrosion of the aluminum alloy doors and windows.
  3. Installing and positioning the aluminum alloy doors and windows: Align the aluminum alloy door and window frames according to the marked positioning lines, then promptly adjust the frame for proper horizontal alignment, vertical plumb, and diagonal measurements—ensuring all meet quality standards—and finally secure the frames temporarily with wooden wedges.
  4. Fixing aluminum alloy doors and windows: If the wall is pre-equipped with embedded iron components, the metal brackets of the aluminum alloy doors and windows can be directly welded securely to these embedded pieces. If no iron components are pre-installed in the wall, use a nail gun to fasten the metal brackets firmly to the wall. Alternatively, if there are no embedded iron pieces in the wall, metal expansion bolts can be used to securely attach the metal brackets of the aluminum alloy doors and windows to the wall.
  5. Handling the Gap Between Window Frames and Walls: After the aluminum alloy doors and windows are installed and secured, a concealed works inspection must be conducted first. Once approved, promptly address the gaps between the window frames and walls according to specified requirements. You can use mineral wool or glass fiber strips to carefully fill the gaps in layers. On the exterior surface, leave a 5–8mm-deep groove for embedding sealant, or, alternatively, apply anti-corrosion treatment around the outer perimeter of the window frame before filling with cement mortar or fine aggregate concrete.
  6. Installation of door and window frames along with glass: Door and window frames, as well as the glass, should be installed after the decorative finishing work on the wall surfaces around the openings is completed.
The glass for casement and sliding doors/windows should be installed after the decorative finishing work on the wall surfaces around the openings is complete. Once the frames of the sliding or casement door/window units are securely installed and fixed in place, simply slide the fully glazed unit into the frame’s track, then adjust the gaps between the frame and the sash for a perfect fit.
  7. Install hardware accessories: Use galvanized screws to connect the hardware accessories with the doors and windows. Ensure the installed hardware is sturdy, secure, and functions smoothly.
