Aluminum Alloy Doors and Windows
1. When using aluminum alloy doors and windows in daily life, handle them gently and ensure smooth, natural sliding or opening movements. If you encounter any difficulty, never force the door or window—instead, first identify and address any underlying issues. Accumulated dust and minor deformations are the main reasons why aluminum alloy doors and windows may become hard to slide or open. To maintain optimal performance, keep the door frame—and especially the sliding grooves—clean at all times. You can use a vacuum cleaner to effectively remove heavy dust buildup both inside the grooves and within the door seals.
2. When cleaning aluminum alloy doors and windows, avoid stepping directly on the aluminum frames, and do not use the frames as a support for your body.
3. For aluminum alloy doors and windows, you can use a soft cloth dampened with clean water or a neutral detergent. Avoid using regular soap or laundry powder, and definitely do not use strong acidic or alkaline cleaners like scouring powders or toilet bowl cleaners.
4. After rainy weather, promptly wipe dry any wet glass surfaces and door/window frames—pay special attention to removing water accumulated in the sliding channels. Over time, increased friction in the channels can be addressed by adding a small amount of machine oil or applying a thin layer of paraffin oil.
5. Regularly inspect the connection points of the aluminum alloy frame, promptly tighten bolts, and replace any damaged components. Pay close attention to wear-prone parts of aluminum alloy doors and windows, such as positioning pins, stay rods, and floor springs—these should be checked frequently and lubricated periodically to ensure they remain clean and operate smoothly.
6. Sealing strips and glass sealant are crucial structural elements that ensure the airtightness and thermal insulation of doors and windows. If they become detached, they should be promptly repaired or replaced.
7. Regularly inspect the joints where aluminum alloy frames meet the wall structure. Over time, any looseness can easily cause the entire frame to warp, making it impossible to properly close and seal doors and windows. Therefore, if you notice loose screws at the connections, tighten them immediately. If the screw bases are loose, apply a small amount of epoxy adhesive mixed with cement to securely reinforce and stabilize the area.

Plastic-steel doors and windows offer the same comprehensive performance as aluminum alloy doors and windows, and their maintenance requirements are identical to those of aluminum alloy counterparts.
However, PVC doors and windows are resistant to acids and alkalis and can be easily cleaned with common detergents like soapy water. That said, the surface of plastic windows is not very scratch-resistant—so be especially careful not to scratch it, and avoid exposing it to solvents such as gasoline or banana oil. Additionally, prevent the windows from being splashed with boiling water or coming into contact with high temperatures, which could cause deformation. When handling or cleaning, never step on the bottom frame of sliding doors and windows, and avoid striking it with hard objects like knives or hammers.
In addition to daily maintenance after installation is complete, the editor would like to remind everyone that a post-installation inspection is also essential. Typically, five key areas should be checked after doors and windows are installed:
1. Are there any cracks in the weld seams of the door and window frame profiles and sashes?
2. Check whether the door and window frames show any obvious deformation, warping, or if the casement doors are sagging.
3. Check the seals and rubber strips for shrinkage, deformation, or gaps.
4. Check whether the hardware accessories are cracked, damaged, or stiff and difficult to move.
5. Are the drain holes clear?
Wooden window
1. When cleaning glass, frames, and window/door components, use clean water or a neutral detergent and gently wipe with a soft cloth to prevent scratches on the glass and frame surfaces. Additionally, every three months, thoroughly clean the grooves at the window sash joints as well as the sliding rail areas. This helps avoid dust, sand, and other debris from interfering with the proper functioning of hardware components. You can use a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner for this task.
2. Every three months, inspect the hardware fasteners at the corners of door and window frames. If any screws are missing or loose, tighten or replace them promptly.
3. Every six months, apply lubricant to metal hardware components such as moving parts, sliding mechanisms, and locking points. After dripping in the lubricant, open and close the mechanism 3–5 times to ensure thorough distribution, which will enhance the flexibility of the hardware’s moving parts and extend its overall lifespan.
4. Do not disassemble or reassemble doors and windows—or their components—on your own, nor make unauthorized changes to the door/window structure or grid patterns. If needed, contact the manufacturer directly or hire a professional technician to handle the issue on-site.
