Most people believe that purchasing high-quality doors and windows only requires paying attention to the obvious components—such as aluminum, glass, and hardware—while completely overlooking the specialized performance features. Instead, they focus primarily on factors like product quality and cost-effectiveness, often assuming from the outset that high-quality doors and windows automatically equate to high-performance ones.
High-quality doors and windows = high-quality profiles + glass + accessory seals + processing techniques + installation methods +…
High-performance doors and windows = High-performance profiles × Glass × Sealing strips for accessories × Manufacturing processes × Installation techniques ×…
So: High-quality doors and windows ≠ high-performance doors and windows
As living standards continue to rise, people now have clear expectations for the quality and performance of residential buildings: energy efficiency, safety, sound insulation, sun protection, comfort, and durability of architectural doors and windows are increasingly prioritized. When purchasing these products, consumers not only focus on the visible components—such as aluminum frames, glass, and hardware—but also place greater emphasis on how well these individual elements work together to deliver an overall, high-performing system.
True system windows and doors represent the perfect, organic integration of a high-performance system.
It’s essential to consider a range of critical functions, including watertightness, air tightness, wind resistance, mechanical strength, thermal insulation, soundproofing, anti-theft features, sun shading, weather resistance, and user-friendly operability. Additionally, the overall performance must account for the combined contributions of every component—such as equipment, profiles, accessories, glass, adhesives, and sealing elements—since none of these can be overlooked. Only by integrating all these factors can we ultimately achieve high-performance system windows and doors.
Currently, in the building materials market, high-end aluminum alloy doors and windows featuring advanced thermal-break profiles have gradually become the preferred choice for many upscale architectural applications.
However, experts also point out that the quality of aluminum alloy doors and windows currently on the market varies widely, so buyers must carefully distinguish between products when making their selection.
Poor-quality aluminum alloy doors and windows—resulting from the careless selection of aluminum profiles and specifications, coupled with shoddy manufacturing practices such as using saw cuts instead of precision milling, improper installation that compromises sealing performance, and uneven operation of sliding mechanisms. These substandard products not only allow drafts and water infiltration, leading to cracked glass, but also pose serious safety risks: under strong winds or external forces, the sliding components or even the glass can easily be dislodged or shattered, potentially causing property damage and injury to occupants.
High-quality aluminum alloy doors and windows must use aluminum profiles that meet relevant national standards regarding thickness, strength, and oxide film integrity. Specifically, the wall thickness should be at least 1.2 mm, the tensile strength must reach 157 newtons per square millimeter, and the yield strength should be no less than 108 newtons per square millimeter. Additionally, the oxide film thickness must be at least 10 microns. If these criteria are not met, the aluminum alloy doors and windows are considered substandard and should not be used.
