Vacuum glass is a new product developed through the collaborative efforts of multiple disciplines, technologies, and manufacturing processes—integrating glass craftsmanship with materials science, vacuum technology, physical measurement techniques, industrial automation, and architectural science. It’s often referred to as the "third-generation window and door glass."
In other words, vacuum glass represents a completely innovative product that differs entirely from traditional insulated glass structures, which most people are already familiar with. Vacuum glass, however, uses specially arranged microscopic support pillars to maintain its unique design. The gap between the glass layers is incredibly thin—just 0.1 to 0.2 millimeters—and the entire cavity is evacuated of air, achieving a vacuum level of at least 0.1 Pa. As a result, the thinnest commercially available vacuum glass products measure only about 6 millimeters thick.
